Lagos TourismCommissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, has stated that the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode led administration remains keen on marketing the tourism values of the state to business and leisure travellers across the globe through an initiative to be driven by his ministry.

Ayorinde, who disclosed this at a reception organised by the management and staff, last Monday, when he officially assumed office, noted that the Ministry of Tourism and its management under his watch will work with other State institutions and agencies to deliver a top-notch economically beneficial tourism marketing strategy built on attractions and exposure of Lagos to the global tourism audience.

While imploring the staff to be focused and committed to meeting the set goals and objectives of the Ministry, he posited that the Lagos economy in 2018 will be largely driven by tourism activities laced with socio-economic values.

Earlier, in her welcome speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Arts and Culture, Mrs. Aramide Giwanson applauded the appointment of Mr. Ayorinde as the new Commissioner, saying that he is an experienced professional in journalism who is determined to ensure that the desire of the State government to make Lagos a preferred tourism destination in Africa is actualized.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Fola Adeyemi while introducing Ayorinde to the management staff of the Ministry, referred to him as an amiable and reliable team leader with great antecedents.
