Starwood announces new GMs for Le Meridien Ogeyi Place, Four Points by Sheraton, Lekki

The Starwood Hotels and Resorts has appointed Mr. Chris Duncan as the General Manager for the Le Meridien Ogeyi Place Port Harcourt.
According to the hospitality group, Duncan will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the hotel and its staff.
Up until his appointment, Mr. Chris Duncan was Resident Operations Manager for the Cape Manor Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, a position he had held since May 2013.Mr.Chris has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has filled various management positions in South Africa.
Le Meridien Ogeyi Place, a renowned hospitality industry, has been recognized for commitment towards Community Development (March 2008), Commitment, Support and contribution towards the growth and progress of Art (Oct 2008), Gold Standard Award for Environment Health and Safety (Dec 2011), Profitability Award (2012) and the Starwood President’s Award (2013).
Meanwhile, the hospitality chain has equally announced the promotion of Mr. Marc Wozniak to the position of General Manager at the Four Points by Sheraton Lagos, Lekki, Lagos.
According to Mr. Michael Wale, the President for Europe, Africa & Middle East, the newly-promoted Wozniak will report to Mr. Barry Curran, Area Manager Nigeria and General Manager of the Sheraton Lagos Hotel, Nigeria.
Prior to this appointment Marc was General Manager at the Sheraton Adana Hotel, a position he has held since June 2013.
Marc has over 29 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has gathered extensive management experience in a variety of hotels in Germany, China, Kazakhstan and Nigeria.
In a related development, in line with Industry Performance and outstanding achievements, the Sheraton Abuja Hotel recently gained an award of Excellence as Best in hospitality and outstanding quality in community engagement by the University of Benin, Student Union Government and the Vice Chancellor-Professor Faraday Osasere.
The University of Benin Students joined together to nominate and vote in different categories of award of excellence presented by the award and recognition committee of 2013/2014 executive council of Students Union Government, UNIBEN.
The SUG President explains; Sheraton Abuja Hotel was one of the nominees under the category of “Best Hospitality Enterprises”.
The method of voting was through Electronic mail, Facebook and Blog sites.
General Manager Mr. Boris Bornman explains “The greater part of our goal this year was to dedicate ourselves to affecting lives positively via developing people. I am happy to say that we have achieved this and it is our pleasure to support humanity as well as put Nigeria on the map”.
