fascinating nigeriaThere are now 44 countries a Nigerian national can freely enter either without a visa, or afforded an opportunity to obtain a visa upon arrival at the airports of those countries for a minimal fee, thus saving time and money on frequent trips to foreign embassies for visa.

Against the backdrop of the fact that millions of Nigerians yearly get rejected visas in embassies all over the world, the news comes as a respite for the frequent travelling individuals.

Aside the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region which traditionally are free entry zones for passport-carrying nationals of member countries, the other countries are mainly in South-South Asia, East Africa, the Caribbean and West Indian islands, a direct result of the strong ties established from the former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo administration and continued by the Goodluck Jonathan tenure.

It is believed that with the recent launch of the new 64 page e-passports, the problems for the frequent travelling Nigerians who had had to revisit the various passport offices for renewals may have been eased.

Cost of new e-passport for below 18yrs and 60 years and above is N8, 750; change of name as a result of marriage or divorce is also N8, 750.
