Abuja, Lagos plan big for art enthusiasts, Thursday

Next Thursday, December 6, will see art enthusiasts throng venues in Lagos and Abuja for top notch poetry, jazz and book presentation events.

In Lagos, iconic poet JP Clark graces an evening of poetry and jazz at the Didi Museum, Victoria Island, Lagos, December 6, for a festival of life which will also feature multi-talented music maestro Jimi Solanke.

In addition, students of the Grange School and Pacelli School of the Blind will perform JP Clark’s poems as a major facet of the evening.

The University of Lagos where JP Clark achieved the feat of becoming the first-ever African professor of English is backing the evening of poetry and jazz.

Described by Encyclopaedia Britannica as “the finest of the African poets”, JP Clark will offer his admirers an evening to remember in this exclusive birthday fest that Didi Museum founder Dr Newton Jibunoh highlights as “an experience of a lifetime.”

In Abuja, the public presentation of the much-awaited book, The Way We Are: Ideas for A Better Nigeria written by Sir Jonas Odocha, the former Group General Manager of the NNPC and former General Manager of Nigeria LNG, will take place same Thursday, December 6 at NICON Luxury Hotel, Tafawa Balewa Way, Area 11, Garki, Abuja.

The prolific novelist and poet Professor Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo is the book reviewer.
